This is the latest I’ve found in a long line of funny Volvo special tool & safety graphics. Need to remove the power steering pump on a 2007 XC90 3.2 to change the serpentine belt tensioner at the back of the engine? You’d better have.... the Jimmy Bar . A finely engineered piece of hardware, this.

I would expect nothing less! My local Volvo parts guy is really, really good, I kind of want to call him and ask for the Jimmy Bar. There’s one I remember from years ago, it showed a guy having his hand cut off by an 850 or something ridiculous like that.

Sometimes the simplest tools are the most irreplaceable. For instance, removing the tranny on a Fiero normally requires draining, disconnecting and dropping the engine and the engine cradle if you do it by the book. With the correct tool however - a piece of 2x4 about 8 inches long, none of that needs to be done. I have used that trick numerous times and could have the transmission out of my Fiero in about an hour, alone in my garage with just a couple of floor jacks.
